Complex, harmonious, supple.
Only 20 kilometers west of Florence, in Tuscany, Carmignano is a commune in the province of Prato. Capezzana is located here, owned by the Contini Bonacossi family since 1920, it has however been a wine producing estate for centuries.
This blend of Sangiovese with 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 10% Canaiolo was aged in 25HL French barrels for 12 months followed by another three months in bottle.
Bruised strawberry and purple berries, floral notes, licorice and sweet spices, leather, balsamic and pipe tobacco aromas lead to a supple and fleshy palate with fine chalky tannins. Balance and structure are all in check.
