Elegant, superlative, honest.
Without doubt, Michael Bartier is one of British Columbia's most talented and humble winemakers. His style in not opulent or powerful, it is honest; he trusts the site and the fruit to dictate the wine. This vintage of his Cabernet Franc is outstanding; plummy and smoky with attractive notes of patchouli, mocha, dusty cherries, star anise and vanilla. The palate fruit is expressive; it is ripe, juicy and sweet. Silky, with understated elegance, it is a truly delicious wine, superlative but not showy.
