From Germany's most exported brand comes this simple but juicy red; light-bodied it offers tart cherries, peppery spices, leather and cedar chips with herbal undertones. It is juicy yes, but there are interesting rubber, bitter cocoa and over-toasted spice flavours. The acidity is apparent, the tannins somewhat bitter. Priced for a party.
