The Merlot and Malbec were harvested from the estate Lakeview Vineyard. This vineyard is situated on the Naramata Bench between Poplar Grove's Davenport and Chapman vineyards overlooking Lake Okanagan. Bunches were hand picked and sorted in the vineyard. Juice from the Malbec was extracted from the red grapes before any significant skin contact occurred. The process of producing rose wine as a by-product of red wine fermentation is a French technique known as saignee.
It also boasts a chic glass closure and is the colour of pale pink petals. The 2020 is scented with cranberry, sweet summer berries, peach stone and pee pollen, aromas, which are layered with wet roses and wild herbs. It's a dry wine with more muscle than you might expect; the flavours here are juicy red fruit sprinkled with fleur de sel. Vibrant red cherries and sun-warmed strawberries, orange blossoms and ruby grapefruit aromas lead to a bone dry palate with citrus, tangy red fruit, finely ground spice and cedar. It is snappy and precise with structure, levity and complexity
