Painted Rock's estate grown Merlot was aged 18 months in 50% new French oak.
It has a somwhat brooding character with perceptible intensity. On the nose you can expect roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, black cherries, black plums and currents. The palate is rich, earthy and dark with layers of mocha and toasted spices. It is supple on the tongue with a silky texture. A sumptuous wine that will benefit from decanting now or alternatively hold a couple more years in the bottle in the cellar.
